Camp Rules

  • Vehicles with Dogs to be parked away from cabins in designated area
  • Dogs not be permitted off lead or to be toileted / run in the camp - They can be run along the Jollies Pass Road but this is a popular walking route so scoop the poop and take it away with you. This may sound pedantic but both the Police Dogs and the Sled Dogs use this as a venue so Doggy Doo is an issue. NB- there is an active Pest Management Programme happening around Hanmer, part of the area being poisoned is on the Camp boundary.
  • No smoking in the buildings
  • Noise restriction from 10pm weekends, please consider other Campers
  • Alcohol in moderation by those over 20 yrs ( Camp Policy )
  • Before checkout buildings are to be left clean and tidy. Camp Manager will check before we leave. Cabins and Lounge vacuumed, Kitchen swept and mopped. Rubbish bags put out in collection area. Failure to clean up will cost us!!!

Training Areas

  • Map; Acheron N31 and Hanmer N32
  • DOC land ( Molesworth Station) from summit of Jacks Pass Road @ GR 957592 and summit of Jollies Pass Road @ GR 999582, North to the true right of Clarence River, then east to Mitchells Cutting @ 034641.
NB The active Pest Management Programme takes in the south of Jacks and Jollies Pass Roads from the summits and top of Mt Isobel down to the Township.
  • Training areas will be divided up so each group will know exactly where they are going. This way we hope there will be no accidental cross over of areas by the different groups.

AGM,

  • Inaugural AGM of NZ Land SAR Dogs will be held on Saturday evening
  • Members (as defined in the constitution - completed application form paid subscription and been accepted) will be entitled to attend AGM and have a vote.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL DURING MEETING
  • The new Committee will meet Sunday morning.
  • Documentation for AGM will be emailed to members prior to weekend

Deadline Please register your intention to attend and any dietary requirements by the 10th of August so I can finalise numbers for catering etc.
Also indicate if you are at or near operational level so you can be seen by the Assessors with view to invitation for Assessment in November.
I would like to see Operational Handlers who are not Assessors step up to the mark and train with the Novice Teams.
Remember it is up to each Handler to train their own dog so apart from me organising areas and groups the rest is up to you.
Don't wait around to be told what to do, everyone will travel a long way for training so get the most out of it.
A Timetable is attached, all in all a busy weekend; it will be good to catch up and see the progress that's been made in the last 12 months.

Poisoning There is an active Pest Management Programme takeing place in the south of Jacks and Jollies Pass Roads from the summits and top of Mt Isobel down to the Township.
